I’m just starting to learn how to thrive in life. The verb thrive means to flourish or grow vigorously, and it can be applied to something like a business or to something or someone's actual health.
There are several critical steps you must take in order to feel the full effects of what it means to THRIVE:
(1) What’s an area you’re doing really well in? Why are you happy in that part of your life? What are the specifics? Is this area better than you expected (better than your blueprint)?
(2) What’s an area you’re not happy with? Does this area not live up to the expectations you set in your life?
When you answer those questions, you can develop a plan on how to close the gap from where you are NOW to where you want to GO. It is in THIS area (between the Plan and Achievement) that is going to get you excited! It is this season of time that you will thrive.
Be cautious: When your life doesn’t match your story of what you want it to be, this is where stress and unhappiness come from. This can cause you to feel helpless, hopeless and out of control.
Keep trying, keep growing, keep striving to achieve your blueprint! And when you get to your blueprint, don’t get nervous if you start to get bored. This means it’s time again to rewrite your blueprint so you can again feel alive to thrive.
I'd love to hear more about your blueprint. Please comment here or email me at email@example.com. Learn how to thrive financially at our upcoming Financial Wellness Seminar September 20th. Register at www.wholearmorministry.com.
Get back to the basics of life - RESTORE! Restoring order will open the door for a revitalized energy that comes from freedom from chaos. You must work for this freedom because it’s not going to come through whining. The first step is to admit your life is more in survival mode than thriving mode. If your days run into each other and you can’t remember your schedule from day to day, chances are you are just surviving. You are enduring each day to the best of your ability but are worn out, have little time for self-reflection and have no time for things that probably really matter. You’ve lost family and friends due to missed gatherings because of a repetitive excuse, “I’m too busy.”
Thriving requires you to desire to achieve beyond the ordinary. Dan and I live a life that is far from ordinary. We are always pushing ourselves to take risks that most people probably wouldn’t attempt. We haven't always thrived however. We’ve been there in survival mode just like the rest of you - severely exhausted, overbooked, and barely surviving. We decided to take our lives back.
Today we have new energy from the freedom we obtained in our schedule and lives. This freedom and energy is fueled by new passions. When new passions burn within, there’s an outward glow that changes your appearance, your swagger. Survival mode has disappeared and every thought is INTENTIONAL. Every action is with the ultimate intent to THRIVE.
We feel humbled to be able to teach about the peace we’ve been able to grab hold of. It’s the start of a new revolution in our lives and the lives of those around us. This unstoppable impact will not allow anyone in our paths to be satisfied with ordinary. There’s too much too experience, too much to do. There’s a harvest of souls that are depressed, lonely, broke, lost, angry, hopeless. Join us on how to restore your life, begin to thrive, and most importantly, begin impacting your community.
Join us at True Life Church 5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 27 for the start of a new Thriving Series. You won't regret taking this time out of your schedule.
We will also be hosting a Financial Health Seminar to help attendees get their finances in order. Whether you are bogged down by debt, looking for extra income, or looking for new order in your household, this is the place you want to be! This 1/2 day event is FREE and we have speakers discussing: financial freedom, entrepreneurial living, career coaching, extreme couponing, and budget cooking.
You ever hear of being in your “sweet spot?” It’s usually associated with what you’re doing, your career, your ministry, and overall, how you’re using your talents. Are you in the place you’re supposed to be?
You can tell if you’re in your sweet spot by if:
During these types of ministry events, we are also always able to discuss our marriage and how keeping God in the center of it makes you stronger. How making the right choices, even within our mistakes, has led us to where we are... in the sweet spot. It’s also a blessing because we can share our book with an audience that may have never heard of it. We are truly amazed by these short moments into the lives of strangers that God grants us!
Listening to Klove this morning, they were talking about how God always makes an appearance when you’re going through a storm. This really touched my heart this because I began thinking back to how God appeared throughout our relationship when we were struggling. How he placed people, even strangers in our lives to help us along through the years.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
I’ll never forget a really bad time in our lives and I had to cancel our gym membership. When I called to cancel, the gentleman on the phone asked what was going on in our lives that is causing us to do this. When I explained all that happened that week, trying to hold back the tears, he said it would be no problem and that he was going to pray for me and my family. How often do you call the gym and have someone say they want to pray with you? I believe he was an angel God placed in my path and I’ll never forget it.
God always shows up on time and always allows us the grace to continue to find our sweet spots in ministry. He's with us in the storms so that we can become stronger people to help others. Imagine if we took it for granted how God led us through our storms? Would we be able to recognize the significance of our SWEET SPOT?
This last Sunday morning was definitely an example of being the sweet spot of ministry. It’s what Dan and I have been called to do at this time. We are excited to see how he is starting to use us and how it feels so right.
“God is good, a hiding place in tough times. He recognizes and welcomes anyone looking for help, No matter how desperate the trouble.” Nahum 1:7
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6

Children learn through creative play! This is accomplished daily at the child care center I manage. One of my goals this week was to help complete an outdoor classroom with my team. With the help of some amazing people, we were able to construct several different outdoor classroom and play areas at Momentum Early Learning. All materials were donated either by the teachers, the management team, parents of the teachers and some outside companies such as Interstate Tree and Always Remodeling.
Our teachers worked side by side to complete this project in one day. We constructed:
-Two shade areas
-Infant and Toddler area
Now our children can learn through creative play by enjoying areas specific to their learning style. I am blessed to be part of such a great team of teachers and parents. I'm looking forward to our five year birthday next month and many more years to come!

Entering the last week of the Whole Armor 30 Day Challenge I find myself with renewed passion. I started this challenge worn out, discouraged, and overall unfocused. I have found that I AM able to invest in other people, my family and my burdens, all while keeping a level head and without burnout. It takes focus, an appreciation in everything, a desire to impact, and most importantly, each day centered on God.
This last week I spent my time in silence so I could hear a word from God and focus my mind. Specifically during this time I kept my radio off while I was driving. I have come to find that I have a lot of great brainstorming that goes on in my mind while I drive. Not sure if that’s a good thing or notJ
During these moments of silence I’ve been specific in my requests to God about what it is I’m seeking. Let’s just say I hit the jackpot. My mind is overflowing with ideas again to fuel my passions. I’ve also been taking time during my day to exercise, and this again has freed up time for me to step away from the craziness of my day, and just think and rejuvenate myself.
This last week of this challenge I plan on implementing, implementing, implementing. Part of enjoying time in your life is ensuring you don’t get bogged down. I’m going to face my renewed passions head on and get the ball rolling so I can keep things in balance in my life. I want to continue to allow time for family, for friends, for God, for my burdens, and for whatever else God sends my way. To do this, I’m going to keep order in my life and find the opportune time for everything.
I encourage you to HOLD ME ACCOUNTABLE! I have an exciting THREE months ahead filled with many objectives:
I would love to encourage you on your journey. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I’ve been doing a lot of self-reflection these last few days while I’m working on my listening skills during this week’s 30 Day Challenge. A common thread in how I live my life is the risks that I have been willing to take. These risks haven’t come without consequence however, but that is to be expected. The rewards of stepping out in Faith are much greater than the falls. I do admit, I have oftentimes followed my heart more than I probably should have, but thankfully, I feel the outcomes have been right. I’ve experienced a lot of pain and some anxiety along the way but I wouldn’t give that up for anything.
My greatest risk and greatest blessing has been giving my life to God. I thank my husband, Daniel Jens, for opening my eyes to an experience with the Lord I never knew was available. He has also pushed me beyond comfortable limits to dream, to LIVE THE DREAM, and believe greatness can be achieved no matter what the obstacle.
To us, living the dream is just this, believing. We approach each day believing we have new heights to achieve, new measures to base our successes on, new opportunities and doors to walk through, new obstacles to scale, new souls to reach, and out-of-the-box thinking to do. We are living the dream by merely recognizing that WE ARE living the dream.
I’m ready to take new risks today! I feel an overwhelmingly strong confidence that I can do ALL things through Christ. I am under HIS protection. HE is the reason I am blessed. Just knowing that my life is in HIS hands and that he makes all things work out for good is enough for me to continue to push forward.
Are you holding yourself back from reaching beyond the walls of your mind? Are you too busy doing the wrong things – busy work, other people’s work – that you aren’t doing the work YOU are intended to do? What risks are you going to take? Challenge yourself!
