It’s the best feeling to get on the scale after weeks of commitment to a healthy lifestyle and see the weight finally starting to fall away. Five, ten, even twenty pounds. Than the plateau happens and motivation is challenged. Workouts become less strenuous and less frequent. Pounds begin to slowly creep back on one-by-one. So how do you stay motivated after that initial weight loss goal is established? What can you do to change your routine to re-spark the fire of pushing your fitness to new limits?
Having recently experienced a twenty pound weight loss I understand the challenges that come with maintaining those physical changes. The excitement and rush of the weight loss was going away. I found myself starting to make excuses to not go to the gym. A month ago that would have never happened.
Then a door of opportunity opened that pushed my fitness routine to new limits. Several of my employees were interested in having someone teach an ab class. Could I actually teach them? How can I sacrifice the time needed out of my already crazy week to host this class? I took a leap and committed. It was one of the best things I’ve done! Becoming a teacher for young woman that just want to feel better about themselves has been inspiring. Now I not only work out for my own self, but I am working out to keep others motivated.
