As I get ready to sit at my desk this morning overlooking a million dollar view, a group of ducks swam by. As those ducks swam by, it hit me hard just how blessed I am to be able to take in this view everyday. My husband sacrificed a lot and works very hard in order to give me this opportunity to work from home. I get a glorious view right from my office seat that many have to travel hundreds of miles to see. Have you ever sat and wondered, what has your spouse done for you or given up for you in order to make your life better? Better yet, what have you done to make your spouses life better each day?
Oftentimes we glide through life waiting for others to fulfill our happiness, to give us reason to be joyful. What we fail to recognize is we can gain so much happiness just by making others happy. Ever do a kind deed for someone and walk away feeling terrible? Well, I'm pretty sure you didn't feel terrible! Actually, you probably felt completely the opposite....exhilarated, probably a rush of renewed energy and even a positive outlook on life. This influx of positive emotion can come from one simple deed.
Why not take a challenge today to be that little sliver of happiness in your spouses life over the next month and see if it's not contagious. If you're feeling stuck in your ever day life, make a list of fun things you can do to enlighten the day of the person you love.
